Oxleas Woods
A drawing tree’s in Oxleas Woods, and ancient woodland on Shooters Hill, South East London. It was known to be where highwaymen hid in the woods to raid the precious goods from the coaches on travelling along the Watling Road, from Dover, through London and leading to the North West. These exploits are mentioned in the first page of the Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities.
